You own a C42 and want to cover it, but you don’t know how and what it takes?

We offer various C42 conversion options, individually adapted to your needs and wishes. From the supply of the covering material, the timber construction kit and the sealing primer for an independent installation and covering to the ready-to-fly covering and assembly by us.
This offer is guaranteed to have something for everyone.
All prices are based on ready to fly aircraft. This means that the delivery is made without the old covering and without the old ribs. The old rib holders must be removed beforehand and the metal structure must be free of grease and cleaned. Your inspector must have assessed the structure as ready for use, because if he detects corrosion damage in the tubes after the conversion, for example, we would all have a problem. For all C42 delivered here we perform an endoscopy in the tubes. You will receive a CD of the endoscopy.

Timber construction kit including epoxy glue and hardener
You receive all uncut wood laths (pine, balsa, plywood) and have to cut them to the correct lengths, cut out the roundings and glue the parts together correctly. The required epoxy glue with hardener is included in this set.

For those customers, who do not have the skills or enough time, we offer the service “C42 ready to fly”. With this service the wings, the ailerons, the vertical and horizontal stabilizer will be converted and covered.

This offer includes the required covering material.

C42 ready to fly

The kit includes the following parts:
  • Installation of the wing rib kit including double impregnation, cap strips and leading edge planking
  • Ailerons with ribs and associated cap strips (double impregnated);
  • Rudder and vertical stabilizer with ribs and cap strips (double impregnated)
  • Elevator and horizontal stabilizer with ribs and cap strips (double impregnated)
  • Ready-to-fly covering (according to customer's colour choice)

Delivery of the C42 to our factory in Leipzig and pick-up of the covered C42 is not included in the price and must be carried out by the customer.

In the factory, the complete conversion for covering the wings, vertical and horizontal stabilizer is made and then the aircraft is covered with ORATEX® in the colour of the customer’s choice (monochrome). If more colours are required for the covering, the price increases. (available on request.)

A painting of the fuselage is not included in the price.
Option 7

C42 ready to fly which includes inspection and approval as well as the certificate of airworthiness
 and the aircraft will be ready for its flight home.


The kit includes the following parts:
  • Installation of the wing rib kit including double impregnation, cap strips and leading edge planking
  • Ailerons with ribs and associated cap strips (double impregnated);
  • Rudder and vertical stabilizer with ribs and cap strips (double impregnated)
  • Elevator and horizontal stabilizer with ribs and cap strips (double impregnated)
  • Ready-to-fly covering (according to customer's colour choice)
  • new routine test
  • new annual check
  • provisional certificate of airworthiness which includes a functional check flight
  • final certificate of airworthiness

Delivery of the C42 to our factory in Leipzig and pick-up of the covered C42 is not included in the price and must be carried out by the customer.

In the factory, the complete conversion for covering the wings, vertical and horizontal stabilizer is made and then the aircraft is covered with ORATEX® in the colour of the customer’s choice (monochrome). If more colours are required for the covering, the price increases. (available on request.)

After a successful handover you can fly home with your new ORATEX® C42 from the airfield Halle Opin (EDAQ).
